United Way of Greater New Bedford leads and operates, in partnership with the New Bedford Police Department the New Bedford Shannon (NBS). With funding provided by the Commonwealth, these programs combine best practices in public safety and public health to help reduce and eliminate youth gang violence in the City of New Bedford. NBS represents a network of community members and organizations dedicated to building a safer community by delivering intervention services and supports to at risk individual’s ages 10 – 24 years in the City of New Bedford.
The NBS program space is expanding and we are looking for volunteers to help get the space ready by spending an afternoon painting several rooms in the space. All supplies will be provided.
