A conference I went to said there is a "Foundation Center" directory that large public libraries have access to, on line. It is available at the Providence Public Library and Boston Public Library. Then we will need a volunteer to check for; the names of the "Family Foundations", geography restrictions (this could be the only "real" restriction), their areas of interest (if it fits our mission of children with cancer- awesome) if not we still would like the names of their board of directors. The other area of research would be to get addresses of "local" sorority houses, from Boston to Providence. Brown, Prov College, URI, Salve Regina, Roger Williams, Bridgewater U etc. This information may be available through "resident student life department" of said web sites. What ever can be done is great. There is no rush to get this info. I'm not on a time line. Before April '13 would be great, but not required by any means.
