Organizational Overview: The Katie Brown Educational Program (KBEP) is dedicated to the recognition and prevention of relationship violence by teaching skills and information needed to make healthy decisions in relationships. KBEP has developed an innovative and interactive curriculum, taught primarily to youth in classroom-based settings throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Internship Description: KBEP is seeking an intern to assist in the overall functioning of the organization. A main responsibility of the administrative intern will be to lead efforts to organize and promote KBEP fundraisers. Interns will take on a role in securing donations, completing mailings, promoting events on social media, and attending events in order to help them run smoothly. Interns will also help with preparation of classroom materials as well as take charge of various office projects, including data entry.
Requirements: Candidates must have excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to be a supportive and flexible team member. Reliable transportation to the office is required. Candidates must possess a strong passion for doing violence prevention work, as well as an interest for working with youth.
Time Commitment: Internships at KBEP are available during Summer, Fall and Spring semesters. Our typical office hours are Monday-Friday from 7:30am -3:30pm, which may vary slightly. There may be events after hours and occasional night or weekend events, as well as a possibility of completing work hours from a remote location, which can be done at any time.
