The Buzzards Bay Swim is a one-of-a-kind scenic point-to-point open water swim across outer New Bedford Harbor. Assisted by a robust safety patrol, swimmers navigate 1.2 miles through the harbor and channel. At the Fairhaven finish line, swimmers are welcomed with a beach party featuring a live steel drum band, pancakes cooked to order, gourmet coffee, and local beer!
Volunteer roles are greatly varied, from Check-In and Merchandise Distribution to Kayak Safety Escorts and Lifeguards. When registering, please denote your volunteer position preferences from the following list:
