Help Mass Audubon create a welcoming presence for a wide range of visitors by installing benches and a posts and rope guide system along our new ADA-accessible nature trail. The primary goal of this project is to make our sites accessible for all, including visitors with a wide range of vision, hearing, and mobility levels. The Allens Pond All Persons Trail once completed will be a sensory enriched experience for all who would like to take in the beauty of nature.
This event requires completing physical tasks that will include digging holes, carrying wooden posts and removing larger rocks that inhibit post and bench installation. There will be multiple options all ranging in difficulty to accommodate all abilities.
We ask that you wear appropriate clothing for the weather and recommend boots, pants and your favorite pair of gloves that you don't mind getting dirty. We will have extra gloves onsite. We will be wrapping up just before lunch, however please bring enough water to stay hydrated. A bathroom is accessible on site for participant use throughout the day.
