New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center

Our mission is to educate the public about the history and culture of New Bedford's commercial fishing industry by engaging them in authentic experiences, to document that culture and history for future generations, and to honor and support the men and women who make their living from the sea.

In order to accomplish our mission we engage the public during our hours of operation through exhibits, interactions with fishermen and fishing families, and special events. We host school groups during the week, participate in community events, and host a variety of off site events and programming.
