Who We Are

At the CSJ Ed Fund, we're on a mission to empower low-income communities, particularly BIPOC individuals and women. Too often, these voices are left out of vital conversations surrounding economic and social inequities. Our approach is simple yet powerful: we work to uplift marginalized voices, putting community members in the driver's seat. Through coalition building, education, engagement, volunteer recruitment, and leadership development, we provide the tools and support for community leaders to advocate for the change they need.

What We Do

We believe social change happens from engaging with and developing the leadership of community members who are most impacted by an issue. We believe that capacity building at the grassroots level, including engagement and education, leadership development, and coalition building are the basis for political and social change. The key to social change is people’s power, which means we have to build a broad grassroots movement that is rooted in communities and supports individuals and families that are excluded from the benefits of our current system. We engage in activities such as canvassing, phone banking, and signature gathering. We also organize rallies, attend state legislature hearings to testify, and organize meetings between state/local legislators and constituents.
