

Who We Are
BAMSI's Dorn Davies Senior Center recognizes, assesses, and addresses problems within the elderly community. Since 1982 the center has developed programming that allows each senior access to services that will enhance his or her quality of life. The center provides Supportive Services which include information about and referral to health and social service agencies. Additional programs include telephone reassurance, aid with fuel and food assistence application and also insurance forms; Alzheimer's and vision support groups. Resource services for caregivers. Our SHINE program which helps seniors understand insurance benefits save individual time and money. Health and Education programs include; Exercise and well-being programs. Blood presure and weight monitoring along with monthly speaker forum. Social and recreational activities include day and over night trips to places and events of intterest. Games,arts and crafts are also a part of our daily schedule. Intergenerational programs enhance the sence of community.Social Activities Day Program; The Dorn Davies Senior Center offers a program of social activities for elders requiring day time supervision and non medical assistance due to physical, social or emotional problems. The program is designed specifically for seniors who are able to care for their personal needs but are isolated due to lack of either formal or informal supports. The program aims to provide relief to families caring for frail elders in their homes and to alleviate caregiviers' stress.Program hours are 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
What We Do
BAMSI is a state wide human services organization dedicated to "bring people and services together." Incorporated in 1975,BAMSI is one of the largest minority non-profit organizations in Massachusetts and delivers a broad spectrum of high quality services to individuals and families. Program services include day and residential programs; counseling and outreach; school based service; child and family support services and information, referral, and advocacy.
