There are approximately 7,700 blind or visually impaired people in the listening area of Southeastern Massachusetts. For its audience, Audible Local Ledger and about 75 volunteers broadcast a combination of network and local programming for listeners 24 hours a day. We turn the print of newspapers, magazines, books, and other publications of a local nature into sound. Plus provide national and international news broadcast from the Massachusetts Radio Reading Network.
What We Do
To bring localized reading of news and items of interest to our listening community on Cape Cod, the Islands, and Southeastern Massachusetts. The Audible Local Ledger, Inc. is dedicated to enabling these persons to live their lives with the greatest possible personal independence. An affiliate of a state-wide Massachusetts Radio Reading Service. Our parent company, Talking Information Center (TIC) is located in Marshfield, MA. This information network provides the reading of daily newspapers, current periodicals, shopping guides, best selling books, calendars of community events, and other material previously available only in print. ALL broadcasts this material over closed-circuit radios, streaming audio, cable television audio channels, and on secondary audio program (SAP) channels of television stations to the blind and print-impaired residents of Cape Cod, the Islands, and Southeastern Massachusetts Region.
