Meal Champion volunteers will spend 45 minutes packing meals and 45 minutes making cards or helping where needed.
During the packing time of the shift, volunteers are responsible for packing the meal items on the "shopping list" in a drawstring bag so it fits well into boxes for delivery. Once the meal pack is completed, meals will be brought to packing volunteers to load onto the United Way of Greater New Bedford trucks. Food packing volunteers should work in teams of 2 to complete this task.
During the card making time of the shift, volunteers will make motivational cards that will be added to each of the meals. Some volunteers may also be asked to help in other areas of the event. During this time there will also be time for group photos and to take part in the kids activities.
