Volunteer: Writers for the South Shore Community MagazineThe South Shore Community Magazine has been ongoing for over 10 years. We publish quarterly every 3rd month - March, June, September, and December. The deadlines for submissions are at the end of every preceding month - February, May, August, and November.
All writing is published for free and due to it being a non-profit magazine, we are a volunteer magazine.
We accept the following content:
Articles in the following 6 topics:
Faith
Effective Education
Safe Spaces
Caring Adults
Opportunities to Serve
Health and Wellness
We have a Community Spotlight section that features articles about people or organizations who are doing outstanding things in the community. We also have a featured article section that focuses on something big happening in the community or at our Family Resource Center surrounding the time of the publication.
We also accept creative writing, photography, and art. This is a great chance for writers to get out there and get published and have material printed for resumes, portfolios, etc.
All submissions must be non-controversial and free of hateful or derogatory content.
We also have affordable advertising for everyone. This advertising is what pays for our magazine so we are always pushing for people to spread the word about this great opportunity! We encourage our contributors to help us obtain advertising.
We are back to printing. Printing is as soon as possible after we are virtually released (dependent on the printing company). Copies can be picked up here at the Family Center upon request.
We meet once monthly to discuss the collection of content for the magazine as well as the planning for our free Annual Leadership Conference. Interested parties can email me at Kasey.Martin@ccbrockton.org to be added to the distribution list for the invites and can learn more information then.
Please visit www.uwgpc.org/frc/south-shore-community-magazine to find out more information and check out the magazine.
