The Katie Brown Educational Program (KBEP) is dedicated to the recognition and prevention of relationship violence by teaching skills and information needed to make healthy decisions in relationships. Responsibilities:

KBEP is seeking a volunteer to assist in the overall functioning of all social media outlets and public relations. The volunteer will help manage, update and enhance, through creative means, our social media efforts; facebook, twitter, instagram, linkedin and other social media channels.  They will help manage the KBEP's social media elements in order to foster interaction, education, engagement and discussion regarding the organization's core values.

Additionally, being a volunteer at KBEP entails supporting the overall functioning of the organization, with participation in violence prevention awareness events, fundraising events, and other organizational projects.

Age Requirments:

Must be at least a senior in high school.

Internship Description: KBEP is seeking an intern to increase the organization’s community relations. Community engagement interns will increase awareness about relationship violence prevention by attending violence prevention awareness events, community events and fundraisers as a representative of the KBEP.

Requirements: Candidates must have night availability. Reliable transportation to the office or any event is a requirement. Candidates must have excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to be a supportive and flexible team member. Candidates must possess a strong passion for doing violence prevention work, as well as an interest for working with youth.

Time Commitment: Internships at KBEP are available during Fall and Spring semesters. Our typical office hours are Monday-Friday from 7:30am -3:30pm, which may vary slightly. There will be night or weekend events, as well as a possibility of completing work hours from a remote location, which can be done at any time.

Internship Description: KBEP is seeking an intern to assist in the marketing efforts of the organization. The Digital Media Intern will create videos that advertise the programs, initiatives, and campaigns of the organization, as well as educational videos for relevant awareness months. The intern will plan the content of the videos, and record and edit the footage to create final products that are engaging, dynamic, and representative of the values of the organization.

This position also entails supporting the overall functioning of the organization, including posting and promoting videos and other content on KBEP social media platforms.  

Requirements: Candidates with a major in communications, cinematography, art, visual design, marketing, public relations, or a related field are preferred. Candidates must have excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to be a supportive and flexible team member. Candidates must possess a strong passion for doing violence prevention work.

Time Commitment: Internships at KBEP are available during Summer, Fall and Spring semesters. This position requires roughly 5-10 hours of service per week (hours are flexible). Our typical office hours are Monday-Friday from 7:30am-3:30pm, which may vary slightly. There are no night/weekend office hours available. However, much of the work may be completed remotely, which can be done at any time.

KBEP is seeking to hire a full-time, year round Educator.  The educator will be responsible for high-quality delivery of the program curricula to elementary, middle and high school students, with some programming for adults and youth in other non-traditional settings.  This position also entails supporting the overall functioning of the organization, with participation in violence prevention awareness events, fundraising events, data collection, curriculum development, and other organizational projects.  The position will begin in January 2018. Qualifications:

Candidates must have experience working with youth in schools or other group settings, as well as a passion and commitment to violence prevention. An undergraduate degree and a minimum of one year experience working directly with youth, particularly youth of diverse populations. Candidates must have excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to be a supportive and flexible team member. Candidates must have daily reliable transportation and must pass a standard CORI check. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
