Quincy College is looking for professionals with basic resume-writing and job interviewing experience to assist students with resume critiquing as well as improving their interviewing skills. Lending your support will help students better prepare for future job & internship opportunities while building self-confidence. Commitment: 2 – 4 hour weekly– during the academic year Tuesday 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Wednesday, 6 – 8 pm or Thursday 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm Desired Skills, Qualifications and Person Qualities: Ability to perform and debrief mock interviews Provide positive yet truthful feedback Must be able to quickly take legible handwritten notes Excellent communication, interpersonal and listening skills Ability to role model professional behavior and maintain professional boundaries Interest in working with diverse populations Willingness to maintain client confidentiality Prior professional experience in hiring or management is a plus but not requiredJob Description: Meet individually or in groups with Quincy College students to review resumes based on criteria provided by Quincy College. Provide feedback to clients and suggest specific steps for strengthening resumes. Conduct mock job interviews based on questions provided by Quincy College. Provide feedback to students on their interview performance based on criteria provided by Quincy College.Training and Supervision: Candidates will be provided with a volunteer orientation. You’ll have the opportunity to shadow staff or other volunteers who complete practice interviews with students, and will be given thorough instructions and support prior to having your own practice interview appointments with student(s). In addition, as a valuable asset to our team, we’re always available to you if you have questions or concerns.
