Volunteer Job Description
Mobile Market volunteers will assist the set up and break down of the Mobile Market. Mobile Market operates from 5:30 – 6:30 pm on Wednesdays in New Bedford or Wareham. Volunteer shifts are 5 - 6:45, this includes time for set up and break down.
Volunteer assignments at Mobile Market may include, but is not limited to:
- Unloading food off the Hunger Commission truck
- Stocking produce and other items as it runs low throughout the night
- Assisting with registration

Mobile Markets take place outside- so dress for the weather! We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and clothing.
Volunteers must sign in and out with the Mobile Market coordinator. At the beginning of the shift, let the Mobile Market coordinator know if you are bi-lingual or have any physical limitations (ie. Can’t lift heavy boxes, can’t stand for long periods) – this will help with evening assignments.
