OCES is looking for individuals to volunteer in our Money Management Program throughout Plymouth County. Our MMP volunteers assist at-risk older adults and individuals with disabilities that may lose their independence due to the inability to pay basic rent, food, and utility bills.
Responsibilities/Tasks:
- Visit consumer on a monthly basis at the consumer's home
- Assist consumer by developing budget, writing checks, and balancing their checkbook
- Complete and submit required paperwork to MMP Coordinator
Abilities/Qualities sought:
- Ability to balance checkbook and write checks; Valid Driver's License required
- Knowledge of developing a budget and advocating on behalf of consumer
Additional information:
Training is required (about 1-1/2 hours online)
1-year commitment; flexible scheduling
