Love books? Want to share your passion for reading with kids? Carney Academy needs your help!
We are looking for committed volunteers to help in the school library.
Duties include:
• Assist students in finding and checking-out books
• Return and re-shelve books
• Monitor library to ensure its clean and organized
• Answer any questions about the space

All volunteers must be CORI checked prior to working. Volunteers can sign up for 2 hour shifts and be able to commit to work at least once a week during the school day.

Over the past few months, volunteers worked to re-organize Carney Academy's school library to make it a more vibrant, usable space for students to read and check-out books.  We are now looking for a committed "library coordinator" to manage the volunteer-run library for next school year. This is a part-time position requiring about 5 hours a week.

Duties include:
• Manage the library’s email account and answer any inquires
• Recruit volunteers for the library
• Train new volunteers before their first shift
• Manage the volunteer schedule (volunteers sign up for shifts at the beginning of each month)
• Be listed as the main library contact

We also ask that the coordinator fulfill our regular volunteer duties working at least one 2-hour shift a week.
