The Buzzards Bay Swim is an open water swim benefiting the Buzzards Bay Coalition, a nonprofit organization that works to protect clean water in our region.
Volunteer your time at the Swim and help us run a safe, fun event for everybody! Volunteers needed at the start line on Cisco Beach in New Bedford as well as the finish line at Ft. Phoenix in Fairhaven. Shifts vary from 2.5 to 4 hours, depending on role. Starting and ending times vary as well.
Volunteer tasks include:
Swimmer check-in
Distribution of swim caps and timing chips
Kayak inspection
Kayakers for the Safety Squad
Kayakers to escort swimmers
Set up/break down
Staffing of hospitality tents
Parking
People flow
Photographers
Lifeguards, registered nurses, EMTs
