Internship Description: KBEP is seeking an intern to assist in the overall functioning of all social media outlets and public relations. The Social Media & PR Coordinator will help manage the KBEP's social media elements to foster interaction, education, engagement and discussion regarding the organization's core values. The coordinator will manage, update and creatively enhance our social media efforts: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other social media channels.
This position also entails supporting the overall functioning of the organization, with participation in violence prevention awareness events, fundraising events, and other organizational projects.
Requirements: Candidates with a major in marketing, public relations, communications, business, or a related field are preferred. Candidates must have excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills, and the ability to be a supportive and flexible team member. Candidates must possess a strong passion for doing violence prevention work, as well as an interest for working with youth.
Time Commitment: Internships at KBEP are available during Summer, Fall and Spring semesters. This position requires roughly 10 hours of service per week (hours are flexible). Our typical office hours are Monday-Friday from 7:30am-3:30pm, which may vary slightly. There are no night/weekend office hours available. However, there may be events after hours, as well as a possibility of completing work hours from a remote location, which can be done at any time.
