The Family Pantry-Damien's Place

Who We Are

The Family Pantry-Damien's Place is located at 3065 Cranberry Highway in East Wareham. We are open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9:30 am to 12 noon. We are staffed by volunteers who stock shelves, distribute food to clients and record client visits. Volunteers work in teams to distribute food and maintain the facility. Volunteers are especially needed to do data input. We also need people who can assist the clients in bringing food to their vehicles as many are elderly and cannot manage without help.

What We Do

The mission of The Family Pantry-Damien's Place is to provide both perishable and non-perishable food to those in need so that no one goes to bed hungry. Founded in 1992 the Family Pantry-Damien's Place was started because of the needs of the poor in the greater Wareham/New Bedford area. Fr. Gabriel Healy and Fr. Tom McElroy began the pantry with the assistance of many volunteers, some of whom continue to serve at the Pantry.  The Pantry needs people to volunteer who wish to assist the food insecure in our local communities from Buzzards Bay to Dartmouth.   If you want to feel good about yourself and at the same time help those in need, join us at the Pantry---volunteer today!
